1. Detroit Reader – Readings and Articles, 2013-2014

[download reader with the following 14 articles here]

This reader shares a different story about Detroit’s bankruptcy, struggle for democracy, resistance and vision.  The compilation of articles ends with a transcript of a speech given by James Boggs in 1988, “Rebuilding Detroit: An Alternative to Casino Gambling” and a speech James Boggs gave at Medgar Evers College, “A Call for Black Leadership: A New Vision forNew  America (1985)”.  Creating a revolutionary movement based upon visionary organizing and resistance which moves beyond protest is on our agenda in the 2nd decade of the 21st Century.  (www.boggscenter.org)
